Hey everyone, welcome to today's blog on The Marnita Show! I'm thrilled you're here to dive into some uplifting and insightful thoughts about parenting through the lens of faith.

Today, we're kicking off a series called "Teach Me," where we're going back to basics and exploring timeless parenting strategies straight from the Word of God. You know, sometimes people say there's no manual for parenting, but that's just not true.

God Himself identifies as a Father, and He created families to reflect His image. So, why wouldn't He equip us with all we need to raise our children well? It's like asking if God wants us to wing it – definitely not! In the words of Mike Tyson, "That’s ludicrous!"

And let's not forget the powerful song "Good Good Father" by Chris Tomlin, which beautifully captures the heart of God's love and provision as a Father, which is a confirmation for me.

Listen to these lyrics:

"Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think You’re like

But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night

And You tell me that You’re pleased And that I’m never alone

You’re a good, good Father

It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are

And I’m loved by You It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am"

Sing that until your heart feels a shift! Music is meditative.

Today, let's give ourselves a pat on the back for the good job we're doing as parents. Whether you're raising biological children, adopted ones, blended families, or even mentoring kids spiritually, you've been entrusted with a significant role.

Sure, none of us are perfect – just like my attempts to replicate my grandma's biscuits never quite match up. But what matters is that we're giving parenting our all. Love never gives up, and neither should we. Let's tighten our grip, take a stand, and bring correction when needed, all according to God's Word.

And speaking of asking for help, let's not be afraid to reach out when we need it. Remember, "You have not because you ask not." Sure, it might feel uncomfortable to admit we need support, but parenting is a tough gig, and it's okay to seek guidance.

Now, let's address a common pitfall: ignoring problems with our kids because we're afraid of what others might think. That's a bit selfish and prideful, isn't it? After all, whatever we fail to address now, we'll likely have to deal with again later.

Let's not forget Proverbs 29:15, which reminds us that undisciplined children bring shame to their parents. So, let's stay proactive and humble enough to recognize when we need to adjust our approach.

I know some of you might be thinking, "My kids are fine; I don't need anyone's help." But hey, parenting is a journey, and it's okay to admit when things aren't quite on track. Seek advice from wise sources – even Auntie and them (other family members) have probably scoped out what's going on! They can see you need help but won’t cross the line until you ask for it.

So, let's engage in this conversation together. Parenting is indeed a hot topic, and we're diving deep into it. If you've got thoughts or experiences to share, drop a comment below. I'm ready to hear from you!

Stay tuned for more insights and inspiration right here, where we're all about growing in faith and family together.
